This test involves sorting 85 colored caps in order of hue. The test-taker is scored based on how closely their results match those of people with normal color vision.

Hardy-Rand-Rittler Test

The Hardy-Rand-Rittler Test is a variation of the Ishihara Color Plates Test. It uses a set of plates with colored dots arranged in a specific pattern, but the plates also include symbols or letters. The test-taker is asked to identify the symbol or letter that is formed by the dots. People with color vision deficiency will have difficulty identifying the symbol or letter, while people with normal color vision will see the symbol or letter easily.

Interpreting Color Blindness Test Results

Color blindness test results are usually given as a score or as a description of the type and severity of color vision deficiency. The severity of color vision deficiency is usually categorized as mild, moderate, or severe. Mild color vision deficiency means that the person has difficulty distinguishing between some colors, while severe color vision deficiency means that the person cannot distinguish between certain colors at all.

Treatment for Color Blindness

Unfortunately, there is no cure for color blindness. However, people with color vision deficiency can use special glasses or contact lenses that can enhance their color vision. These special lenses work by filtering out certain wavelengths of light and enhancing others, making it easier for the person to distinguish between colors.
