What is the treatment for high FSH?

High levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) can indicate various conditions, such as menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and Turner syndrome. Treatment for high FSH levels depends on the underlying cause.

In menopausal women, high FSH levels may be a sign of decreased ovarian function. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may be used to balance hormone levels and alleviate symptoms such as hot flashes and vaginal dryness.

In women with PCOS, high FSH levels may be a sign of ovarian dysfunction. Treatment may include medications such as clomiphene citrate or letrozole to stimulate ovulation and improve fertility.

In women with Turner syndrome, high FSH levels may be a sign of ovarian failure. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may be used to replace the missing estrogen and progesterone hormones, and human growth hormone may be used to promote growth and development.

It is important to consult with a healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of high FSH levels and determine the appropriate treatment plan.
